Board Bulletin March 2026

CONCORD is currently entering a crucial phase as we prepare a new strategy to be presented to the General Assembly in June for member approval. The feedback received so far has been very encouraging, and we warmly appreciate the active engagement of members across the network. Our strategy is not intended to be a detailed action plan, but rather a long‑term compass to guide CONCORD’s work in a rapidly shifting world.

When the international context becomes unstable, our best anchors are our core values, a strong community, and consistent collective action—both in Brussels and in national capitals. To remain relevant, however, we also need to understand the evolving political landscape and speak the language that currently shapes policy debates, ensuring that development perspectives remain visible and credible.

During the last Board meeting, we continued refining the draft strategy, focusing on defining the areas where CONCORD can offer the greatest added value. This dialogue with members will continue throughout March and April.

A second major topic was financial sustainability. Ensuring adequate resources for CONCORD is vital for delivering on our mission in the years ahead. Implementing our financial strategy remains a key priority, and membership fees continue to play an essential role as part of the own‑contribution required for the EC operational grant.

Looking ahead to June, the General Assembly will also elect a new President and several Board members. I would already like to encourage all members to consider nominating strong candidates for these positions. Given the uncertainties of today’s global environment, serving on the Board offers a unique and meaningful opportunity to help steer CONCORD through these challenging times.
